To give you some idea of how I have been spending a good deal of time the past couple of weeks I offer this photo. This is approximately half of my cd collection. Last night I finished importing all of these cds to my iTunes library housed on my 500 Gig external hard drive. About a month ago my 60G iPod gave up the proverbial ghost. And much of that music was stored only there because (before I purchased the external hard drive) I had to delete the entire library from my laptop’s hard drive. Sometimes I hate technology. Sometimes I just try to go with the flow.
It is interesting to revisit a lot of this music. I don’t listen to nearly enough of it to justify having purchased it in the first place. But that’s all water under that damn bridge that someone sold the gullible curmudgeon ages ago. Rather than purchase a new iPod right away, I got a 4G nano which is an adorable little device and I may just keep this thing and trade playlists in and out of it. No, Flaming Curmudgeon, just who the hell do you think you’re kidding. In spite of the fact that Suze Orman now knows your shame of credit card debt which you have vowed to pay off. Despite having cut up all your credit cards and gone on a no-spending spree. Even though you have begun automatic payroll deductions of 6% of your pre-tax income to put into your 401K — everyone knows that you will,
at first chance, lay down the dough for a shiny new big old honking iPod. Sometimes I think that part of being a swish is having little or no self control. Or maybe I’m just making an excuse to shade my eyes from the wicked painful sunshine of self-realization. I hope only good will come from my current extreme financial diet. Don’t ask how much I owe for only Suze Orman loves me in spite of my dirty dirty secrets.
