I just wasn’t expecting this. One of the smartest comedians to ever grace the planet. Even as a wee pre-curmudgeon I used to enjoy watching him on Ed Sullivan. His love for — and masterful use of — the English language were unsurpassed and probably won’t be ever. Mr. Carlin, thank you.

    George Carlin was truly the pioneer that Lenny Bruce is given credit for. Lenny might have thought he was relevant, but he forgot to be funny. George may have made you think, if you chose to, but he never forgot he was a comic.
