You know, sometimes it’s tough being a goddamned flaming curmudgeon. Maybe it’s the red wine (cheap) speaking. Maybe it’s the movie I’m watching (Listen, Darling MGM 1938 starring Judy Garland, Mary Astor and Walter Pidgeon). Perhaps it’s just because no matter how fat I think I am or how without cash reserves I always seem to be or how much I beat my aging breast and wonder why oh why oh why oh me oh my, but goddamn it sometimes a Saturday can just be plain old simple fun.

Photos like this make me miss living in Manhattan more than anything else can. I love my semibold life in the country, but it’s just these kinds of simple pleasures that make me yearn for the city lights.
